1881 Heritage

1881 Heritage

Located at 2 Canton Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, 1881 Heritage was once the headquarters of the Hong Kong Marine Police, built in 1884. The site includes several Victorian-style buildings such as the Main Building, Stable Block, Time Ball Tower, and the former Kowloon Fire Station. It was declared a monument in 1994.

After revitalization, the site reopened in 2009 as a cultural and lifestyle destination. It now features luxury boutiques, fine dining, and the heritage hotel House 1881, all while preserving its historical architecture and offering exhibitions on its past.

One of the highlights is the daily 1:00 PM time ball drop at the tower—a nod to 19th-century timekeeping traditions. In the evening, the illuminated buildings create a romantic atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for photography and leisurely strolls.
