Sai Wan Swimming Shed

Sai Wan Swimming Shed

Sai Wan Swimming Shed, built in the 1950s along Victoria Road in Mount Davis, is the last of its kind in Hong Kong. Once a changing and access point for local swimmers, it now stands as a nostalgic relic by the sea.

The wooden pier stretching into the water is its most iconic feature—especially magical at sunset when golden light dances across the waves. The shed and its surroundings have become a favorite for photographers and couples seeking a quiet, romantic escape. Standing at the end of the walkway, with sea breeze and crashing waves all around, it’s easy to forget the city is just minutes away.

Though swimming is less common today due to strong currents and lack of lifeguards, the shed remains a peaceful spot for reflection, photography, and soaking in the beauty of Hong Kong’s coastline.
