Plover Cove Country Park

Plover Cove Country Park

Designated in 1978, Plover Cove Country Park spans over 4,500 hectares, making it one of Hong Kong’s largest country parks. Surrounded by sea on three sides and filled with rolling hills, it boasts diverse landscapes and rich biodiversity. Highlights include the Plover Cove Reservoir, Wu Kau Tang, Mirror Pool, and the picturesque Bride’s Pool waterfall.

The Plover Cove Reservoir is the world’s first “reservoir in the sea,” with a 2-kilometer-long dam that’s both functional and scenic. Bride’s Pool is known for its tranquil beauty and a haunting local legend. The park features several hiking trails, such as the Bride’s Pool Nature Trail, Tai Mei Tuk Family Walk, and Ping Chau Country Trail, catering to all levels of hikers.

The northern extension includes Yan Chau Tong Marine Park and Tung Ping Chau, home to dramatic coastal rock formations and rare wildlife. Traditional Hakka villages and feng shui woodlands add cultural depth to the natural surroundings.
