Sha Tin Racecourse
Opened in 1978, Sha Tin Racecourse is a world-class venue operated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. With turf and all-weather tracks, it seats over 85,000 spectators and features 20 stables, an equine hospital, and high-tech betting systems.
The racecourse hosts major Group 1 events like the Hong Kong Cup and Queen Elizabeth II Cup, drawing elite horses and jockeys from around the globe. On race days, the atmosphere is electric—cheers echo as hooves thunder down the track.
Beyond racing, the venue offers themed dining, interactive zones like the e-sports-inspired “Backstage,” and panoramic views from the grandstands. On non-race days, Penfold Park—nestled within the track—is open for leisure and nature walks.
