Bethanie

Bethanie is a cultural gem that blends religion, architecture, and historical heritage. Its design reflects 19th-century neo-Gothic style, featuring pointed arch windows, stained glass, symmetrical layout, and stone masonry that evoke classical European aesthetics. Originally built as a sanatorium for French missionaries, the building was restored in 2006 and received a heritage conservation award from UNESCO.

Today, Bethanie houses a small museum, a theatre, and a chapel. It regularly hosts exhibitions and performances that offer insights into the religious and cultural development of Hong Kong during the colonial era. The spatial design preserves historical traces while serving modern educational purposes, making it a landmark rich in both beauty and intellectual value.
